Horses have always been a huge part of my life - I rescued my first horse when I was 16 - so I think I may try to find a horse rescue to work with. Horse farms are incredibly expensive to run, especially when you're caring for ill , undernourished or abused animals. I've seen some horse rescues/programs that offer outreach/education programs, and I think that is something I would like to try to support or expand.

ReplyDeleteI hope you can find an organization for rescued horses. It seems to me grant writing will be a lot easier if it's something you're passionate about, and it seems like horses are one of your passions. I know rescue agencies are always in need of assistance. I'm considering a similar rescue organization for one of my projects. Good luck and I look forward to working alongside you this semester.

Pretty horse! Yes, a great cause. Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with, Heather. Might look for smaller things, like food, or to develop a program or help support a program that helps people through horse therapy.
